Have you dreamed of earning a bachelor's degree, but didn't think it was possible with your responsibilities and schedule? Union University is ready to partner with you in your education, from application to graduation.

The First Step program helps adult students who have little or no prior college credits to progress toward earning their degrees. First Step features an 18-month rotation of online and accelerated core courses created specifically for adult students. After completing the First Step program, students are prepared to enroll in Union's BSOL program, where they can earn their bachelor's degree in as little as 18 months.

Take the First Step toward your goal of earning a college degree today.

Am I ready?

At Union University, we encourage applications from adult students with little or no college experience.

A First Step student must be a graduate of an accredited high school or have a state high school equivalency diploma and be at least 24 years of age. The following items must be submitted to be considered for admission: application for admission, processing fee, transcripts from all accredited institutions attended, high school transcript/GED if less than 24 college credit hours achieved, immunization record, a rationale statement describing why they desire to attend Union University and two letters of recommendation on provided forms.

Do you have questions? Contact First Step to discuss beginning the application process.

Can I afford it?

Union University is nationally recognized for academic excellence. It is also affordable, making a degree from Union achievable for adult students. You might be surprised at the financial aid that is available to qualified students. Contact First Step to get more information.

What classes do I need?

We work with each student to develop the best Plan of Action for completing required classes and meeting graduation goals. You may select courses from a prescribed list, based on your needs, family situation and objectives. If you have earned college credit in the past, your transcript will be evaluated. In addition, Union offers Road to Graduation seminars for adult students.

How do I prepare for college study?

Union offers study and writing workshops to help adult students become reacquainted with academic endeavor. Students may call on First Step staff whenever they feel pressure or need academic advice.

Union University also requires an orientation session for students taking online or in-class courses. Students become acquainted with using University technology, academic resources, student services and much more. We want you to enjoy all of the benefits of a Union University education.
