Union volleyball drops close match at Lyon, 3-2

BATESVILLE, Ark. - 10/26/2009 - The Union University volleyball team fell in five sets at Lyon (Ark.) College on Monday night 3-2 (23-25, 25-16, 25-22, 16-25, 17-15). Union dropped to 23-5 on the season and 7-5 in the TranSouth. Lyon improved to 10-19 overall and 4-5 in league play.

Union led with a win in the first set, before falling behind 2-1. A convincing win the fourth set tied the match with Union taking momentum into the fifth and deciding set. After a close back-and-forth battle, Lyon prevailed 17-15 to clinch the upset win.

Up next for Union will be four matches in the Georgetown (Ky.) College Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Union will face top-10 team Georgetown, as well as, ranked teams Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Campbellsville (Ky.).
