South Carolina runner joins Union cross country

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/5/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University cross country team has added another runner for the fall of 2010. Caleb Creel of Greer, S.C. joins Union this fall as a freshman and will major in Christian Studies.

Creel, at 6-foot-6 and 175 lbs., has combined for eight years of running experience in cross country and track. Creel prepped at Byrnes (S.C.) High School where he ran cross country for five seasons and track for three. As a senior, Creel was a cross country state qualifier, team MVP and all-county. His 5K time was 16:55.

Off the course, Creel was the Valedictorian of his class and was a member of both the National Honor Society and Beta Club.

Creel is the son of James and Frances Creel of Greer and is a member of Burnsview Baptist Church.
