Union adds Columbia’s Crane to women’s soccer roster

JACKSON, Tenn. - 5/3/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team has signed Emily Crane of Columbia, Tenn. to the roster. Crane will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in Athletic Training.

“Emily is a great kid from a great family,” says Union head coach Brandon Boylan. “She is a great fit for our soccer program and Union. Emily is a defender who works hard and is committed to becoming a better player every time she takes the field.”

Crane, a 5-foo-4 defender, prepped at Columbia Academy where she played soccer, basketball and ran track. Crane's soccer team was district champions in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. She was a four-time all-district tournament performer, three times named all-district, twice named MVP and was all-region as a junior.

Off the field, Crane was on the honor roll, was named most athletic superlative and was on the homecoming court. Crane was also a part of Leadership Maury and was the chairperson for her church's youth group.

Crane is the daughter of Jeff and Sherry Crane of Columbia and is a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
