Union's Barry finishes 44th in Tennessee State Amateur

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 8/6/2010 - Union (Tenn.) University sophomore Brett Barry shot a final round 71 (even par) in the Tennessee State Amateur Championship at the Club at Fairvue Plantation (The Foxland Course) in Nashville. His solid final round was his best of the four rounds as he finished in a tie for 44th place.

Barry, a former Jackson Christian School standout, shot a first round 73, followed by a second round 77 and a third round of 74, to go with his final round 71. He was in a tie for eighth place after the first round. He was in a tie for 52nd after three rounds. Barry finished 25 shots behind the winner.

Barry is coming off a very successful freshman season with Union where he helped lead the Bulldogs to five tournament titles, including the TranSouth Championship. Union advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.
