Lexington's Lee named men's soccer assistant coach at Union

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/9/2010 - Michael Lee begins his first season as the men's soccer assistant coach at Union University. Lee spent four seasons as a member of the men's soccer program.

Union head coach Clovis Simas says, “Michael is a great addition to our soccer program. He understands our culture, and sees his position as an opportunity to serve God, Union and the Jackson community. He comes in with the right heart.”

In the spring of 2009, Lee was the head coach of the Trinity Middle School boys soccer program. He has assisted in numerous soccer camps, including helping with the Kick's soccer camp in his hometown of Lexington, Tenn.

Lee is a 2009 graduate of Union with a degree in Biblical Studies. He also has his class "E" coaching license and is currently working toward earning his national coaching diploma. Lee is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Lee played four seasons of soccer for Lexington High School. He was selected as team captain as a junior and senior, while also earning all-district honors. Lee was the captain of the Jackson Wolves club team.

Lee resides in Jackson, Tenn. with his wife Ashton and the two are expecting their first child.
