Union men’s soccer tops Williams Baptist 2-0

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - 10/12/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team posted a 2-0 win at Williams Baptist (Ark.) College on Tuesday night. Union improved to 10-2 on the season.

This shutout was Union’s seventh shutout of the season. The team record is 10 shutouts in the 2003 season.

Union scored first in the 19th minute of play on a goal from Sutton Shults. Union goalie Rainer Hauss and the Bulldog defense did the rest as that score held until the 89th minute of play. Union’s William Hanna scored to put the final score at 2-0. Hauss recorded four saves.

Union outshot Williams Baptist 21-11 in the match, including 7-4 in shots on goal.

Up next for Union will be another non-conference road game when the Bulldogs travel to Asbury (Ky.) University on Saturday, Oct. 16.
