Union softball adds South Side standout

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/9/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University softball program added another local standout with the signing of Kohnley Wade. Wade will enter Union next fall as a freshman and will major in Athletic Training.

Wade, a 5-foot-3 infield and outfielder, prepped at South Side (Jackson, Tenn.) High School where she played softball and volleyball. She was named all-district in 2010. Over her first three years in high school, Wade hit .395 with 60 stolen bases, a .675 on-base percentage and a .915 fielding percentage.

Wade also played summer ball for the Dixie Bells, who claimed the World Series Title in 2008 and were World Series runner-up in 2007.

Wade is the daughter of David and Gina Wade of Medon, Tenn. and is a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church.
