Middle Tennessee high school star inks with Union women’s soccer

JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/7/2011 - Alex Taylor of Franklin, Tenn. has signed to play her college soccer for the Union (Tenn.) University Lady Bulldogs. Taylor will enter Union the fall as a freshman after graduating high school in May.

Union head coach Brandon Boylan says, “Alex comes from a great family and will fit in very well here at Union. She is a quality player whom we expect to make an immediate impact on our program. Alex could have gone to a number of different places but knows that God lead her to Union.”

Taylor, a 5-foot-8 midfielder, prepped at David Lipscomb (Tenn.) High School where she played soccer, basketball and ran track. She also played club soccer for the Brentwood Soccer Club where they were five-time state champions. Taylor was named all-district four times, all-region and all-state three times, MVP and captain twice and was the offensive MVP as a sophomore.

Off the field, Taylor was a member of the National Honor Society and was a part of the Senior Leadership Council.

Taylor is the daughter of Richard and Stacey Taylor of Franklin and is a member of the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.
