JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/7/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team has signed Kay Morgan of Goodlettsville, Tenn. Morgan will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in accounting.
Union head coach Brandon Boylan says, “We are excited about Kay choosing to be a part of this year’s recruiting class. She is a smart defender who reads the game well. She will add depth to the back line and will be a great fit for our soccer program and university. Kay comes from a great family and we look forward to the next four years with Kay in our program.”
Morgan, a 5-foot-6 defender, prepped at Beech (Tenn.) High School where she played soccer and basketball for four seasons. In soccer, she was named all-district twice, all-county once and was named to the Katie Hunter All-Tournament team. Morgan played club soccer for the TUSC 93 Girls Red. Her team captured the 2004 Division II state title and were state finalists in 2005.
Off the field, Morgan was a member of the National Honor Society and was voted Most Athletic.
Morgan is the daughter of Bill and Cindy Morgan and is a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church.
