Union volleyball snaps skid with 3-1 win at Cumberland

LEBANON, Tenn. - 11/1/2011 - The Union University volleyball team ended a six game losing streak Tuesday with a 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19) at Cumberland University. Union improved to 11-19 on the season and 6-6 in the TranSouth. Cumberland dropped to 11-22 overall and 4-9 in league play.

Union was led by Abbey Wainwright with 17 kills. Anna Sims recorded 14 kills and Kami Dickerson had 11 kills. Emmie Moroski recorded 38 assists. Lydia Wright, Cassie Logan and Lauren Sprouse led with two aces each, while Sprouse also led with 21 digs.

Cumberland was led by Mackenzie Gass with 21 kills and Amanda Wiseman with 10 kills. Meghan Gass added 37 assists and Brooke Bowers led with 31 digs.

Up next for Union will be the final regular season match of the year as the Lady Bulldogs host Martin Methodist College Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for senior night.
