Chow to present piano recital March 5

JACKSON, Tenn.Feb. 28, 2007 – Alan Chow will present a guest piano recital at Union University March 5.

Chow serves on the piano faculty at Northwestern University and has won first prize at several prestigious piano competitions. He has performed with orchestras in more than 40 states, including the National Symphony, Utah Symphony, Oakland Symphony, Tulsa Philharmonic and the Kansas City Symphony.

Chow also regularly tours Asia and has performed in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.

His program will include works by Haydn, Rachmaninoff and Chopin. Among his Chopin selections will be the “Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor” that was heard in the movie “The Pianist.” and the sonata with the famous funeral march.

The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Union’s Hartley Recital Hall, located in Jennings Hall on the west end of Union’s campus. The program is free and open to the public. Call (731) 661-5345 for more information.
