Union University Community Art Program offers winter classes for children and teens

JACKSON, Tenn.Jan. 8, 2001 – The Community Art Program sponsored by Union University's Department of Art will offer winter and spring art classes for children and teens from preschool age through grades 9-12.

A six-week parent/child workshop on Mondays for children ages two to kindergarten and an accompanying adult will begin Monday, Jan. 29 from 10 to 11 a.m.

An eight-week painting class will be offered for students in grades 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12. Grades 1-4 will begin Monday, Jan. 29 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Grades 5-8 and 9-12 will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

A drawing class for grades 1-4 will begin on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Class size is limited to eight students per class and the deadline for registration is Monday, Jan. 22. Cost for the parent/child workshops and painting classes are $185, and drawing classes are $165. All materials are included. For more information, contact Debra Tayloe at (901) 661-5075.
