Pharmacy students to participate in white coat ceremony Aug. 26

JACKSON, Tenn.Aug. 25, 2009 – First-year pharmacy students at Union University will take part in the annual white coat ceremony Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. in G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.

The white coat ceremony is a ritual for medical schools and pharmacy schools in which students are given the white coats they will wear throughout their years as students and in their profession.

Members of the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy will be in attendance at the ceremony, as will Madison County Mayor Jimmy Harris and members of the health care community in West Tennessee.

This year’s class of 47 students is the second class in Union’s School of Pharmacy.
