Weatherly exhibit to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month

JACKSON, Tenn.Sept. 23, 2009 – An exhibit by artist Linda Weatherly exploring the issue of breast cancer will be on display in the Union University art gallery Sept. 28-Oct. 23.

The Union art department is hosting the exhibit, “Exposure: A Creative Response to Breast Cancer,” as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October and is donating its commission from all sales to the American Cancer Society.

Weatherly, of Pearisburg, Va., will be at Union for an opening reception Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m. to talk about her experience as a breast cancer survivor.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The art gallery is located in the Penick Academic Complex on the Union campus.
