JACKSON, Tenn. – Aug. 13, 2012 – Union University’s non-duplicating headcount for the 2011-2012 academic year was a record-high 5,301 students.
Non-duplicating headcount is a figure used by educational institutions to show the total number of students enrolled for any classes during a given year. No student in any program is counted more than once, whether they enroll for one term or for all five of Union’s terms.
Numbers in recent years show that Union’s non-duplicating headcount has been on a steady rise:
1997 – 2,183
2001 – 3,130
2006 – 3,728
2012 – 5,301
“To think that the gifted faculty and staff of Union University have had opportunity to invest in the lives of 5,301 capable students over this past year is truly amazing,” Union University President David S. Dockery said. “We offer thanks to God for his ongoing blessings to this institution and trust that these students will have opportunity to reflect the Christ-centered mission of Union University in dozens of spheres and various contexts in the years to come.”
