JACKSON, Tenn. – Feb. 4, 2002 – Union University’s Art Department is currently hosting a selection of works by artistic photographer David Underwood in the Union Art Gallery. The show, which consists of a range of different composite photographs, is free to the public and runs through Feb. 28.
Underwood has been creating art as well as teaching it for the past decade, holding positions in the art department at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn. He received his bachelor of arts degree in photography from Carson-Newman in 1982 and then later his master’s degree in fine arts from Florida State University.
His art, which he says allows him “to expand the language of photography beyond the limitations of single-frame imagery,” has been included in numerous shows across the country. He also has had numerous pieces of work printed in various publications, including The Photographic Journal in Croydon, England.
For more information about this and other exhibits coming to Union University, contact the Art Department at (731) 661-5075.
