Jackson music educator honored by Kindermusik International

JACKSON, Tenn.Jan. 31, 2001 – Union University Community Music Center co-director Gina Kinney has been honored as one of Kindermusik International's Fast Starters for the year 2000. Only 41 of more than 500 individuals who became licensed to teach Kindermusik last year met the criteria to be named a Fast Starter.

Kindermusik International recently created the program to recognize, reward, and encourage those educators who have quickly established a successful Kindermusik program. Created by early childhood music and movement specialists, Kindermusik programs provide early childhood learning opportunities through innovative music and movement curricula, which helps to involve families in their child's total development.

Kinney, along with Kindermusik educator Kim Graves, offers a full program of Kindermusik, the leading music and movement program for children newborn through 7-years old. Currently, there are 40 students participating in the seven classes offered at the center.

For more information about Community Music Center's Kindermusik program as well as other music education programs that are offered, call (901) 661-5234.
