Benefit recital to raise funds for mission trip abroad

JACKSON, Tenn.March 2, 2001 – The Union University Department of Music will hold a benefit recital featuring the Union University Singers and various student performers Monday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Hartley Recital Hall in Jennings Hall. A free will offering will be collected which will go toward funding for a mission and concert tour to Germany in May.

While in Germany, students will have the opportunity to teach conversational English to German teenagers in addition to leading a high school group in a musical performance project. The choir and handbell ensembles will also give several concerts at public venues, while working with German Baptists and the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in supporting their work.
