Artist to be featured at Union University

JACKSON, Tenn.March 14, 2001 – Artist Barry Motes will have pieces on display in the Union University Art Gallery Mar. 19 - Apr. 13 with a reception in the gallery on Mar. 19 at 4 p.m. The exhibit will include various paintings and drawings such as Eschatos Velocitas.

Motes has been featured in various solo exhibitions as well as selected group and juried exhibitions for the past decade throughout Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee, as well as speaking in several public lectures and workshops.

A graduate of Morehead State University, Motes later received his master of fine arts for painting and drawing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He currently serves as chair of the fine art department at Jefferson Community College in Louisville, Ky. and is the director of the Krantz Art Gallery.

Art gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and the exhibit open to the public. For more information, call (901) 661-5075.
