JACKSON, Tenn. – March 2, 2004 – Union University’s department of music will host a guest recital by vocalist Sharon Mabry on Monday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hartley Recital Hall. Hartley is located in Jennings Hall on Union’s campus.
Mabry is a professor of music at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn., where she teaches primarily vocal pedagogy and private voice. She also serves as the director of graduate programs in music.
Mabry has established a career as a recitalist and soloist with symphony orchestras. She has performed in venues such as Merkin Concert Hall in New York City, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the National Public Radio “Art of Song” series. Her classical recordings have aired on radio stations in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Mabry holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Florida State University. She earned a master’s degree in music and a doctor of musical arts degree from George Peabody College, as well as a performance certificate from the Franz-Schubert-Institut in Austria.

Due to inclement weather, all Union campuses will be closed on Friday, March 6, with all classes canceled.
The wellness center will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and the aquatic center will be open from 1-3 p.m.
Friday's Preview Day has been canceled.
Brewer Dining Hall will be open from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lex will be closed. No breakfast will be served.
