Environmental Stewardship > Composting

Union University is thrilled to announce our new composting initiative! Currently, Union is working with our dining services by removing a portion of their compostable waste and turning the waste into rich soil. Once the compost process is completed, Union will donate the soil to a local ministry named Hartland for their urban garden project, once the project is underway. Through Hartland's project, children will learn how to cultivate the land through lessons in responsibility and positive work ethic, and most importantly, the garden project will provide food for families in need while promoting healthier food choices.
