Before Union: Stack prepped at Madison Academic High School where he played baseball and basketball. While at Madison, Stack was a part of the basketball team's District Championship. In baseball, he was named All-State Honorable Mentioned three times, Pitcher of the Year as a freshman, and a was a three-time All-District player. During the summer of 2007, Stack posted a 10-2 record on the mound with a 0.80 ERA and two saves. Stack faced 263 batters, allowing just eight earned runs, striking out 78 batters, and recorded just 21 walks.
