Before Union: Anderson transferred from Greenville College where he played football and baseball. He prepped at Christian Academy of Louisville and was a member of the football and baseball teams. He helped lead his team to District Champions in 2007 and in 2008 to Regional and Semi-State Champions. In his senior year of high school, he was honored with the First Team Semi-State award and while at Greenville College, he was part of the SLIAC Honorable Mention team. In 2009, he had a .386 batting average and a .422 on base percentage. He was involved in the Beta Club and was a FCA leader.
