Union Baseball to Play Their Home Opener on Friday

Jackson, TN—The Bulldogs will play their first home game of the 2001 season on Friday, February 9 when Spalding College, KY comes to Jackson. The game will begin at 2:30 PM on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs’ will also be at home on Saturday, February 10 as the battle Georgia Southwestern in a double-header beginning at 1:00 PM.

This will mark the beginning of the third season at the new baseball facility at Union. Last season, the Bulldogs hosted the NAIA Region XI Tournament and this coming May, Union will play host the TranSouth Conference Tournament. The Bulldogs enjoyed playing at home, winning 24 of the 31 games played at Union last season. The crowds have been outstanding because of the local support. Of the 22-player roster, 16 are from the West Tennessee area including eight Jackson players.

The Bulldogs are currently 2-2 on the season and ranked No. 25 in the NAIA Preseason Poll.
