JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/10/2007 - Union University defeated Crichton College (Tenn.) 2-1 in men's soccer to remain in tie for first place in the TranSouth Conference. Union improved to 8-7 on the season and 6-1 in the TranSouth. Crichton dropped to 1-11-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the league.
Union is currently tied with Bethel at 6-1, with Lambuth sitting at 5-1. With Union still to play Bethel in the final match of the season, and with already having beat Lambuth, the Bulldogs control their own destiny in the race for the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
For Union, Benny Crozier and Wagner Oliveira scored for the Bulldogs and the Union defense held on for the victory.
