Ross, a 5-foot-7 guard/forward, is currently a senior at North Side High School in Jackson where she is completing her fourth season of basketball for Coach Farris Lowery. Ross was named All-District and All-Region as a junior. She was also a member of the state runner-up team as a sophomore. This season, Ross is averaging 19.2 points and 7.4 rebounds. Through the first 17 games, she has 60 steals and has helped to team to a 16-1 start. Off the court, Ross is a member of the Honor Roll.

“Lavanda is exactly the type of player and person we want at Union”, states Union head coach Mark Campbell. “She has played in a great program for Coach Lowery. She expects to win and she gives a great effort in every area of life. Lavanda will make an immediate impact and we are excited.”
