Union Golf in First Place after Round 1 at TranSouth Tournament

JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/14/2008 - The Union University men's golf team finds themselves atop the leaderboard at the 2008 TranSouth Conference Golf Tournament at the Hemitage's Generals Retreat Golf Club in Nashville. Union is at 305 after round one. The second and final round of the tournament being played on Tuesday.

Union's 305 is nine shots ahead of Cumberland (Tenn.) University's 314.

Union golfers Clay Mallard of Milan, Tennessee, and Gary Glapa are tied for second place in the individual standings with a 74.
