JACKSON, Tenn. - 4/24/2008 - The Union University softball team has added Trinity Christian Academy’s Ali Bozza. Bozza will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in Athletic Training & Physical Therapy.
Bozza, a 5-foot-7 infielder, prepped at Trinity Christian Academy in Jackson where she played softball, soccer, and basketball. In softball, she helped lead her team to back-to-back Tennessee State Titles in 2006 and 2007. Her teams earned district titles in 2004-2007 and region titles in 2006 and 2007. Bozza was named All-District three times, All-District Tournament once, and All-West Tennessee twice. At this point in her career, Bozza has accumulated over 70 RBI and six homeruns. She is hitting .360.
Bozza earned soccer honors for All-District and Team MVP while leading her team in goals scored.
Union head coach Heather Hall states, “We are very excited to have Ali chose Union to continue her academic and athletic careers”. Hall adds, “I’ve seen her determination as she has bounced back from injuries. She is a talented player and a very hard worker.”
Of the field, Bozza held memberships in Beta Club and National Honor Society.
