Union men's soccer tops Lyon 3-2

BATESVILLE, Ark. - 10/21/2008 - The Union University Bulldogs used two goals from Dejan Kostic to defeat conference foe Lyon (Ark.) College.

Union, now 7-5-2 overall and 5-2 in the TranSouth, trailed 1-0 following a goal from Lyon's Tyler Northrip. Union answered with a goal from Paul Turner to even the score at 1-1.

After Kostic's two second half goals made the score 3-1 in favor of Union, Lyon's (8-6, 3-3) Greg Buford scored on a penalty kick to set the final score at 3-2.

This match marked the final TranSouth match of the season for Union's men. The Bulldogs have clinched at least a third place finish in the TranSouth at 5-2, and are just a half game back of Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College and Bethel (Tenn.) College who are both 5-1. Union has a win over Martin Methodist, but lost to Bethel.

Up next for Union will be a road game at Asbury (Ky.) College on Thursday, October 23.
