Union women's soccer records shutout win over Tennessee Wesleyan

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/25/2008 - The Union University Lady Bulldog soccer team posted their eighth shutout of the season with a 5-0 win over Tennessee Wesleyan College. Union snapped a two-match losing skid with the victory.

Union (11-5) scored all five goals in the first half. The first goal came on a header from Jamie Haynes on a corner kick assist from Cheslie Tharpe. Caitlin Zimmerman, Union's leading scorer, added two goals, plus an assist. Eboni Murphy and Candice Blackard added one goal each. Roxanna Skelton recorded one assist.

Union posted 22 shots in the game, and allowed no shots in the match to Tennessee Wesleyan (6-9).

Up next for Union will be their final regular season match of the year when they host Reinhardt (Ga.) College on Saturday, November 1 at 7:00 pm.
