Union Truvillion named TranSouth co-player of the week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 1/27/2009 - Union University junior Greg Truvillion has been selected as the TranSouth Conference men's basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending January 25, 2009.

Truvillion, a 6-foot-8 junior forward from Lansing, Mich., had a 26 point and nine rebound effort in Union’s 118-71 victory over Blue Mountain College. He was 11-for-12 from the field in that game. He turned in a double-double with 14 points and a Union career-high 17 rebounds in the 99-66 Union win at Mid-Continent.

For the week, Truvillion averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He was 16-for-19 (85%) from the field and 7-for-10 (70%) from the foul line. Union is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll and are currently tied for first place in the TranSouth with a 6-1 record.
