Union men’s soccer tops Asbury 1-0

JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/22/2009 - The Union University men’s soccer team used a second half goal to defeat Asbury (Ky.) College 1-0. Union improved to 4-9 on the season, while Asbury dropped to 4-11 overall.

Alysson Mohl drained a long shot, assisted by Guilherme Reis, in the sixty-first minute of play for the game-winning goal. Union outshot Asbury 21-4 in the game, including 11-1 in the second half. Mike Phelan recorded two saves for Union, while Asbury goalie Dylan Fouts recorded eight saves.

Up next for Union will be a conference match on Tuesday, October 27 at Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University at 7:00 p.m.
