Union's Dudley named TranSouth Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 2/1/2010 - Kaitlin Dudley of No. 1 Union (Tenn.) University has been named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 31, 2010.

This marks the second time this season for Dudley to receive this honor and the fourth time for a Union Lady Bulldog.

Dudley, a 5-foot-10 senior guard from Bradford, Tenn., scored 28 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists and had three steals in Union's 98-71 win over the No. 13 Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University. Dudley hit 10-of-13 from the field, 6-of-8 from 3-point range and hit both free throws.

Dudley's play help Union extend their home court winning streak to 54 games, their TranSouth regular season winning streak to 43 games, and their overall winning streak to 14 games.

Union is currently ranked No. 1 in the NAIA women's basketball rankings. The Lady Bulldogs are 21-1 overall and finished the first half of the TranSouth schedule in first place at 8-0.
