Union’s Truvillion named TranSouth player of the week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 2/8/2010 - Greg Truvillion of No. 15 Union (Tenn.) University has been selected as the TranSouth Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 7, 2010.

For Truvillion, this marks his third conference player of the week honor on the year.

Truvillion, a 6-foot-10 senior forward from Lansing, Mich., averaged 20.5 points, nine rebounds and three assists per game on the week. The All-American player was 16-of-24 (67%) from the field, 3-of-5 (60%) from 3-point range, and 6-of-7 (86%) from the foul line on the week. In the Bulldogs 92-55 conference win at Bethel (Tenn.) University, he scored 23 points with 13 rebounds and five assists. He hit 9-of-12 from the field while nailing his only 3-pointer and 4-5 from the foul line. The double-double was his 13th of the season. Truvillion added a game high 18 points in Union’s 75-65 win over Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College.

Union, ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, has a 18-6 record and shared the TranSouth lead with Freed-Hardeman at 9-1 in league play.
