KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 3/30/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University golf team is ranked No. 24 in the latest NAIA national poll. Union was No. 22 in the preseason poll followed by a No. 25 ranking in the last poll.
Union has played in five tournaments this semester, with the Bulldogs winning first place three times. This past weekend was the first time in five events that an NAIA school finished ahead of Union this semester.
Sophomore Ryan Chandler and Freshman Brett Barry lead the Bulldogs with a scoring average of 74. Barry has one tournament title to his credit at the Tucson (Ariz.) Invitational Games. Chandler’s best finish was second place at the Trevecca Nazarene Spring Invitational.
Up next for the Union golf team will be the Union University Spring Invitational in Clifton, Tenn. at the Ross Creek Landing Golf Club on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3.
