Union men’s basketball signs Alabama JUCO standout

JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/9/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University men’s basketball team has added another recruit for the 2010-11 season. Antoine Hall of Douglasville, Ga. will enter Union this fall as junior.

Hall, a 6-foot-6 200 lb. guard/forward, comes to Union from Gadsden State (Ala.) Community College. While at Gadsden State, Hall averaged 11.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He led the team with a conference 3-point shooting percentage of .413. His season highs came in a game versus Beville State (Ala.) where he scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, including a 5-for-6 effort from behind the arc.

Hall played his high school basketball for Douglasville High School. He averaged 15 points and four rebounds and was a 3-year varsity player. As a senior, Hall was named to the all-district team.

Union head coach David Niven says, “Antoine is a long, athletic forward that meets one of our biggest needs this off-season. Antoine instantly makes us a better team shooting the basketball. He was one of the best three-point shooters in the state of Alabama last year. That, along with his size and athleticism, makes him a guy that can really come in and help us. He was a big part of the reason that Coach Todd Ginn was able to turn the program around at Gadsden State. I am very excited that Antoine has chosen to attend Union.”

When asked why he chose Union, Hall said, “The coaching staff and players made me feel right at home as soon as I stepped on campus. I could tell that it would be any easy transition for me from Gadsden State to Union. I love the fact that I know that I will have every opportunity to graduate from Union with a degree.”
