JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/14/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University women’s soccer team posted a 2-0 victory over Webber International (Fla.) University. Union improved to 3-1 on the season, while Webber dropped to 1-3 overall.
Union and Webber played to a scoreless tie through the first 45 minutes. In the first half, Webber outshot Union 7-4, but neither could break through. In the second half, the momentum changed to Union as the Lady Bulldogs outshot Webber 9-4 in the final 45 minutes. Union scored the match’s first goal in the 68th minute on a shot from Whitney Kramer, assisted by Kelly Bogdanovich. Union added an insurance goal in the 89th minute. Rachel Boswell scored on an assist from Grace Boto.
Sarah White recorded eight saves in the match for Union, while her counterpart Makenzie Vance recorded three saves.
Up next for Union will be their first conference match as they travel to Batesville, Ark. for a 1:00 p.m. match versus Lyon College.
