Union volleyball wins seventh straight match

BATESVILLE, Ark. - 9/27/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University volleyball team posted a 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-20) win at Lyon (Ark.) College. Union improved to 9-3 on the season and 5-0 in the TranSouth. Lyon dropped to 7-15 overall and 0-7 in league play.

The win for Union also marked their seventh straight victory on the season and keeps the Lady Bulldogs in a tie atop the TranSouth standings.

Union was led by Heather Lieberman with 17 kills. Cassidy O’Hair added 10 kills in the match. Emmie Moroski led with 42 assists, Kelsey Duling led with 25 digs and Anna Sims led with seven blocks.

Lyon was led by Meghann LaBorn with 14 kills, while Chelsea Hinton added 11 kills and Suzanne Fincham posted 10 kills. Danielle Reed dished out 46 assists, Hinton led with 23 digs and LaBorn led with six blocks.

Up next for Union will be four matches in a weekend tournament at Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) on Friday and Saturday.
