Union golf finishes eighth at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. - 10/5/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University golf team finished in eighth place in the Murray State (Ky.) University Invitational held at the Miller Memorial Golf Club in Murray on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Union was in fourth place after round one and seventh place after round two.

Union shot a team total of 904 in the three-round event. Murray State won the tournament with an 860 team total. Union was led by senior Ryan Chandler in a tie for 11th place with a score of 220. Micah Gentle finished T30 (227), Brett Barry finished T33 (228), and Steven Coffelt finished in 35th (229). Union’s Charlie Pittman withdrew due to injury.

Up next for Union will be another NCAA DI event when the Bulldogs play in the UT Martin Invitational at Paris Landing State Park on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 11-12.
