McKENZIE, Tenn. - 10/27/2010 - The Union (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team dropped their match 1-0 at Bethel (Tenn.) University. Union dropped to 12-4 on the season and 3-3 in the TranSouth. Bethel improved to 10-5-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.
Union and Bethel played to a scoreless tie through the first half and the first 10 minutes of the second half. Bethel led Union by a slim 4-3 margin in shots.
In the 55th minute of play, Bethel’s Mohammed Dumbuya scored the winning goal, assisted by Amarndo Orozco. Bethel controlled much of the second half, leading 4-1 in shots. Bethel controlled shots on goal as well, leading 5-0 over Union.
Rainer Hauss recorded four saves for Union, allowing just the one goal in 90 minutes. Chaz Dachenhaus did not see much action in his 90 minutes in net, recorded no saves in the shutout.
Up next for Union will be the final regular season match of the year at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) on Friday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 p.m.
