JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/19/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University women’s soccer signs Megan Jay of Arvada, Colorado. Jay will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in nursing.
Union head coach Brandon Boylan says, “We are pleased Megan has chosen Union to continue her academic and athletic endeavors. She is a great kid who comes from a great family, we feel she will be a great fit for our university and soccer program. Megan is a defender who will come in and compete with our current group. We expect to be solid on the back line next year.”
Jay, a 5-foot-7 defender, prepped at Faith Christian Academy (Colo.) where played soccer and basketball. Jay was named an all-conference defender and earned the Best Defensive Player Award. In basketball, she earned the Best Defensive Player Award and the Varsity Spiritual Leadership Award. Off the field, Jay was a member of the National Honor Society, Ministry Chair and student council.
Jay is the daughter of Doug and Jacci Jay and is a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
