JACKSON, Tenn. - 7/28/2011 - Justin Hogan has been named the new assistant baseball coach at Union (Tenn.) University. Hogan comes to Union after spending the last three seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville.
“I would like to say thanks to Dr. Dockery, Dr. Tidwell, Mr. Sadler and Coach Fronabarger for this opportunity”, says Hogan. “I am excited to be here as a part of the Union family. I hope to help continue the recent success of the Union baseball program.”
Hogan played college baseball at Southern Polytechnic (Ga.) State University where he helped his team to the conference tournament title in 2004. He began his baseball playing career at Hiwassee (Tenn.) Community College.
Hogan, a native of Pike County, Ga., finished his undergraduate degree in business administration from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2006. He added a masters degree in sports management in 2010 from the United State Sports Academy.
Hogan and his wife Anna reside in Jackson where she works as a nurse.
Hogan takes over for Joseph Talley who had been the assistant coach at Union for the last four seasons.
