Union men’s basketball signs Faller for 2011-12

JACKSON, Tenn. - 8/2/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University men’s basketball team has signed Pedro Faller of Vitoria, Brazil. Faller will enter Union this fall as a freshman and will major in business management.

Union head coach David Niven says, “Pedro rounds out what looks to be a great freshman class for our team. He is a point guard and should work his way into the rotation at that position. He has really good size and strength for a point guard. One of Pedro’s best attributes is his ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter. He can stretch the defense in the half court. In the full court, Pedro will give us another ball handler that can speed up the pace of our play.”

Faller, a 6-foot-1 guard, prepped at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn. where he was an exchange student for two years. He played two years of basketball where he led the team with 18.1 points per game. Faller also grabbed 6.2 rebounds per game and dished out 6.0 assists per game. He was coached at Hamilton Heights by Bill Eller.

Faller is the son of Marcos and Rosilany Loureiro.
