Canadian Soccer Standout Signs with Union

Jackson, Tenn. - 5/13/2003 - Duncan Nicol, of British Columbia, Canada, has signed to play is college soccer with the Union University Bulldogs. Nicol will join the Bulldogs as a freshman this coming fall.

Nicol, a 6-for-2 180 lb forward, led his team to the Under-16 National Championship in 2001. That season, his team was also the Coastal Cup Runners-Up and British Columbia Provincial Champions. He was named the MVP of the Under-16 Coastal Cup while averaging a goal per game during that season. He scored the game-winning goal against arch rivals Ontario, in the semi-finals and helped lead his team to victory in the finals. Most recently, Nicol has led his Under-18 league team to a third place finish while scoring nine goals in just 15 games during the season. He severed as team captain and Co-Coach for the Seaquam Senior boy’s team.
