Union men’s soccer falls at Christian Brothers 1-0

JACKSON, Tenn. - 9/7/2011 - The Union (Tenn.) University men’s soccer team had their losing skid extended to three matches on Tuesday with a 1-0 loss at Christian Brothers (Tenn.) University. Union dropped to 1-4 on the season, while Christian Brothers improved to 1-1.

The two teams played a scoreless first half. Union outshot Christian Brothers 8-4 in the first 45 minutes. However, just 36 seconds into the second half, Christian Brothers scored the game winning goal on a shot from Jose Ferraz. Union outshot Christian Brothers 16-12 in the match, including 4-2 in shots on goal.

Union’s James Landham allowed just the one goal with one save in the match. Jaime Garcia recorded four saves in the shutout for Christian Brothers.

Up next for Union will be another tough road contest as the Bulldogs travel to Missouri Baptist on Saturday, September 10.
