PARIS, Tenn. - 10/11/2011 - The Union University men’s golf team posted an eight place finish in the UT Martin Skyhawk Invitational at the Paris Landing Golf Club. And for the second straight week, Union junior Brett Barry made a strong showing in a most NCAA division I tournament. He finished in a two-way tie for second place, just two shots off the medalist.
Last weekend, Barry finished third in the Murray State Invitational.
Barry shot a first round 70, followed by a second round score of 69. He closed out in the third round with a 72 for a 211 (5-under) tournament score.
Steven Coffelt finished with a 220 (T15), Kyle Long finished with a 230 (T44), Andrew Knight finished with a 234 (T55) and Ben Waits finished with a 236 (T60).
Union’s team shot a 298, 295, 301 for their three-round total of 894. The University of Southern Illinois finished first with a team score of 860 (-4).
Up next for Union will be the Blue Mountain Invitational on Thursday, October 20 in Holly Springs, Miss.
