JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/31/2011 - The Union University men’s basketball team has been picked to finish second in the TranSouth Conference Preseason Coach’s Poll. Union finished last season as co-champions of the regular season with Martin Methodist (Tenn.), this season’s favorite.
Union has won eight TranSouth Regular Season titles and seven tournament titles in the 15 years of the league.
In addition to the preseason poll, the TranSouth also released their preseason all-conference honors. Union’s Antoine Hall and Skyler Vaden were both named to the team. Hall and Vaden are both returning starters from last season’s team that advanced to the 14th NAIA National Tournament in program history.
Union opens their season Monday, Oct. 31 at Central Baptist (Ark.). Union’s home opener will be Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 is also Union’s Homecoming games with the women to play at 2 p.m.
