KANSAS CITY, Mo. - 12/6/2011 - The Union University women’s basketball team held on to their No. 2 ranking in the first poll of the season. Union was No. 2 in the preseason poll released in late October.
Union’s only loss on the season came on a neutral floor in Oklahoma to the new No. 1, Oklahoma City University. Oklahoma City and defending champion Azusa Pacific (Calif.) switched places in the poll right above and below Union at No. 1 and No. 3.
Union, currently 10-1 on the season, is 3-1 versus teams ranked in the current top-25. Union is also 2-0 against teams currently receiving votes in the latest poll.
Union has two tough games remaining before the Christmas break as the Lady Bulldogs will host No. 9 Lee (Tenn.) Saturday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. and Evangel (Mo.) Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 4:00 p.m.
