Union's Clark Named TranSouth Player of the Week Again

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/18/2004 - Union University junior Stephanie Clark has been named the TranSouth Player of the Week for the third time in four weeks. Clark continues to lead the Lady Bulldogs as she averages a double-double on the season with 19.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Clark, a 6-foot-2 forward from Artesia, New Mexico, helped Union to an 2-0 record last week with a 77-57 win at No. 19 Trevecca Nazarene and a 56-55 win at Blue Mountain. Clark recorded her eighth double-double of the season and kept a streak of five games with 11 or more rebounds in tact. One the week, she scored 41 points (20.5 per game) and pulled down 29 rebounds (14.5 per game). She also added 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. She shot 18 of 24 (75%) from the floor and 5 of 10 (50%) from the charity stripe.

Union is now 25-2 overall and 11-1 in the TranSouth Conference.

The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs will be in action next as they host TranSouth foe Berry College on Thursday, February 19. The women will play at 5:00 p.m. and the men will play at 7:00 p.m.
